The British Airways: BA OOE Contract tasked AJAR-tec to design and install a complete Audio Visual and Communications system that could work as 6 independent systems or as 1 complete entity controllable from 1 main incident center when required. This incorporated an Integrated Audio / Visual / Communication Systems for the British Airways Operational Crisis Incident Centre (OCIC), the Emergency Procedure Incident Centre (EPIC), Operations Control, Operations Disruption Room and Briefing rooms. This required the development of new simple way to manage and display 35 data and 15 video sources, audio conference systems; and OCIC Override/Censure functionality. Continuity of Operation; training to create User Familiarity and the ability to create a Partnership for Success were aims. We provided a Communications and Audio Visual system that integrates and links the above areas and systems described and to include the following Areas and systems: Core System OCIC; OCIC Briefing; Observation Platform; EPIC Training Room and EPIC Briefing Room; OPS Control FTD; OPS Control Disruption Room; Exterity IPTV System; and Backup TV System. AJAR-tec created a system utilising the latest technologies such as full HD LCD displays, AMX touch panels, Netlinx network, Tandberg video conferencing systems, Clearone audio conferencing, RSA two-factor authentication technology, Exterity IPTV infrastructure and Barco projectors.
Our solution provides British Airways with a state-of-the-art facility which exceeds their original expectations. “Our operations department control in excess of 23,000 operational staff and crew, along with our fleet of over 250 aircraft” says Ashish Jain, Manager Corporate Contingency Planning, British Airways. “AJAR-tec completed the project with complete confidence. We consider it an outstanding contribution to the business continuity management of the airline and feel we have an installation that is the envy of the aviation industry and indeed other organisations.”
AJAR-tec have created and enabled a unique and bespoke system for British Airways. It is a crucial and fundamental part in risk and incident management, and business continuity. British Airways themselves are still excited by the capabilities of the system and consider it an outstanding contribution in their business continuity.”
